How to sell your company's data for AI training.
To sell your company's data for AI training, you license operational records such as procedures, support tickets, CRM data and project histories to a buyer that anonymizes them for AI training. micro1's Data Partnerships program, for example, pays established companies $100K to $2M+ per approved data package, and your company keeps ownership of the underlying data.

Why do AI labs want company data?
Because AI models learn how work gets done from real examples. Your procedures, tickets and project logs show how real work is done, step by step, and AI labs can't find that anywhere else.
That's why programs such as micro1's Data Partnerships program pay established companies to license operational data. In October 2026, micro1 committed $1 billion over 12 months to buying and licensing company data.
Which company records can you sell?
The most useful records are the ones your team created while doing the work:
- Standard operating procedures and QA checklists that describe how tasks get done.
- Knowledge bases and wikis that capture how your company solves problems.
- Project histories that show how work moves from start to finish.
- CRM records and support tickets that show real customer work and decisions.
- Internal communications, templates and workflow data that show how teams coordinate.
Years of history and well-documented workflows matter more than any single file. micro1, for example, looks for companies with 30+ employees, mature operations, substantial historical records and mostly English data.
Are you selling or licensing your data?
Licensing. People say "sell", but the buyer gets the right to use an anonymized version under contract, and your company keeps ownership of the underlying data.
Before you agree to anything, get clear answers to these questions:
- Who keeps ownership of the underlying data?
- Who anonymizes it, and how is personal information handled?
- Who will the data be licensed to?
- Can you review samples before it's used?
- When are the raw files deleted?
Under micro1's program, you keep ownership, micro1 handles de-identification, data is licensed only to labs and enterprises in the US and allied countries, you can review representative samples first, and raw files are deleted on an agreed schedule, on request or when the engagement ends.
How much is company data worth for AI training?
Under micro1's program, an approved data package earns $100K to $2M+. Large-scale datasets, or packages where several teams take part, reach $500K to $2M, and highly unique proprietary data can go beyond $2M. micro1 bases the amount on the quality, uniqueness and value of the data.
No one can give you an exact figure upfront: scope and terms are agreed after micro1 has reviewed what you hold.
The full amount is paid at once. micro1 reviews the data within 30 days, you invoice once it's accepted, and payment follows within 30 days.
How do you prepare?
Start with a data manifest: a description of the data you hold, not the data itself. You don't share any data to find out if you qualify. It helps to know:
- Which tools your records live in, such as Salesforce, Zendesk, Notion or Jira.
- How many years of history you have, and roughly how much.
- Which teams created the records.
- Which language most of it is in.
On your side, the work is mostly internal sign-off, a legal review and the transfer itself. micro1 identifies which datasets are licensable and handles de-identification.
I help companies put together a clear, complete manifest, and I'll tell you upfront if your company is unlikely to qualify.
What about your customers' privacy?
micro1 removes or transforms personal information before anything reaches third parties, limits access to authorized staff and keeps each company's data apart from other companies' data. Strict contractual protections apply, and the data is never shared publicly.
Can a closed company sell its data?
Yes. Records that sit unused can still be worth something. micro1 also acquires data from companies that are no longer operating, in the same $100K to $2M+ range. If you ran a company with 30+ staff that has since closed, ask me about it.
