micro1 Data Partnerships, explained by an independent partner.

micro1's Data Partnerships program pays established companies $100K to $2M+ to license their operational data for training AI systems. This guide sums up how it works, based on micro1's published criteria and terms. I'm not micro1: I'm an independent referral partner, and micro1 decides eligibility and terms.

What is micro1's Data Partnerships program?

It's a program in which micro1 licenses operational data from established companies, anonymizes it and uses it to train AI systems. AI models learn how work gets done from real examples: the procedures, tickets and project histories that companies build up over years.

Companies are paid per approved data package, from $100K to $2M+. In October 2026, micro1 committed $1 billion over 12 months to buying and licensing company data, financed by Citi and Hercules Capital.

It's a license, not a sale: your company keeps ownership of the underlying data.

Which companies qualify?

According to micro1's published criteria, a company qualifies if it has:

  • 30+ employees. At least 30 full-time staff.
  • Mature operations. Established workflows, documented in SOPs, knowledge bases and internal processes.
  • Historical depth. Substantial records in your tools, such as CRM data, support tickets and project histories.
  • English data. Data that's mostly in English.

micro1 prioritizes US companies, then other Western markets. Companies that are no longer operating can qualify too, in the same $100K to $2M+ range.

What data does micro1 license?

Anything that shows how your company actually works, for example:

  • Standard operating procedures
  • Knowledge bases and wikis
  • Project histories
  • CRM records
  • Support tickets
  • Internal communications
  • QA processes and checklists
  • Templates and workflow data

You don't need to anonymize any of it yourselves. micro1 identifies which datasets are licensable and handles de-identification. For more on what makes records valuable, read how to sell your company's data for AI training.

How much does micro1 pay?

micro1 pays $100K to $2M+ per approved data package, in three tiers:

Type of data partnershipPayment
Qualified enterprise data partnership$100K to $500K
Large-scale operational datasets, or ongoing participation across several teams$500K to $2M
Highly unique, proprietary operational data$2M+

micro1 bases the amount on the quality, uniqueness and value of the data. Scope and licensing terms are agreed with a micro1 Data Partnership Manager after micro1 has reviewed your application. Source: micro1's Data Partnerships page.

How does the process work?

It takes four steps, and no data moves until you sign. There's no fixed timeline: it depends on your data and your legal review.

  1. Application. You create a company profile with micro1 and complete a data manifest: a description of the data you hold, not the data itself.
  2. Review. micro1's team assesses the fit. If it's a match, a Data Partnership Manager discusses scope and licensing terms with you.
  3. Agreement. You sign the agreement and transfer the data under its terms. micro1 handles anonymization.
  4. Payment. micro1 reviews the data within 30 days. You invoice once it's accepted, and the full amount is paid within 30 days.

Before you apply, you can ask me for a free fit check. I'll tell you honestly whether it's worth your team's time.

How is your data protected?

Your company keeps ownership, and micro1 commits to these protections on its Data Partnerships page:

  • Strict contractual protections apply, and micro1 never shares your data publicly.
  • Your data is kept apart from other companies' data, and access is limited to authorized staff.
  • Personal information is removed or transformed before anything reaches third parties.
  • Data is licensed only to AI labs and enterprises in the US and allied countries.
  • You can review representative samples before the data is used.
  • Raw files are deleted on an agreed schedule, on request or when the engagement ends.

What does it cost to apply?

Nothing. Finding out is free, the application only asks for a description of your data, and nothing is transferred until you sign.

If your company becomes a partner through my referral link, micro1 pays me a referral fee. It costs you nothing, and you can always apply directly instead.
